Paul Walden is
following in the footsteps of his Grandfather, who trained
greyhounds in the 1930's, and his mother Hazel, who was one of
the first ladies to be given a professional trainers' license in
1969. She handed over her license to Paul in 1998 when attached
to Oxford.
Paul started his
training career with a bang, sending out Active Jack to win the
Midlands Puppy Derby just
three months after taking out license and trained in excess of
200 winners in his first year. Now concentrating on graded
runners at Swindon, the track he joined in 2002, Paul will also
travel far and wide in pursuit of Open winners given the right
dog.
Foxhold Farm is set is the tranquil surroundings of the Thatcham
countryside in Berkshire. Paul's establishment has 7 acres of
land with all the latest facilities for training greyhounds,
including a powered walking machine and grass gallop. Paul has a
dedicated full-time team of staff on hand to look after the dogs
in his care - there is room for 70 greyhounds at Foxhold Farm.
There are wooded
walks nearby where owners can take their greyhounds on Sunday
mornings. Kennelling starts from just £5 per day and Paul will
happily help any new prospective owner to find a greyhound to
suit their requirements. |
