The Original Stadium was
built in 1929 and the N.G.R.C. racing was introduced in 1932. Today the
Stadium hosts some 260 race meetings
every year which comprise of some 150 evening meetings and 100 matinees
for the Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Service (B.A.G.S.) The B.AG.S.
Meetings are broadcast to all Britain's 8000 Betting Shops and many
Countries overseas.
Today after becoming part of the Sheffield based A & S Leisure Group in
1991 it has had a £3,000,000 refurbishment and enjoys over 300,000
visits a year ranking sixth in size of the Country's N.G.R.C. Greyhound
tracks. |
