About Jane Houfton

Jane Houfton has been a professional trainer since 1997. After two years at Peterborough she transferred to Sheffield in 1999. Previously Jane had immediately become hooked on greyhound racing after joining her husband Dave for a visit to Nottingham race track. Dave owned a share in Farloe Cross and it was not long before Jane became more involved with greyhounds and took out a license to assist Farloe Cross's trainer. She then transferred to Champion Trainer Charlie Lister who encouraged Jane to take out a license in her own right.

Jane has a kennel strength of 100 and has a great team of staff supporting her - ten in total with only two of those being part-time.  Her loyal team have been with her pretty much since the start. Jane has good, reliable contacts in Ireland and will always have greyhounds for sale or be able to help you find a dog to suit your requirements.

Field Farm House is set in ten acres of land and this land will eventually be used to accommodate more paddocks. There is currently a paddock half an acre in size giving the greyhounds all the freedom in the world for exercise. All the kennels have their own individual runs and there is also a 300m grass gallop (see picture below).

Starofthebill put Jane on the map when winning the Steel City Cup in 2003 and he is still at the kennels today and has been crossed with Hat Trick Lady who is now in pup. Morgans Gold gave Jane another big prize when taking the Arnie Dennis Memorial Puppy Trophy at Sheffield. Broods at the kennel are sent away to Ireland to be whelped down and their pups return to Field Farm House at 12 weeks. They are then reared and schooled at the kennels.
