When it comes to greyhound racing
David Mullins was simply born and bred into the game. His family
have long established a legendary status within the Sport.
David's father was Champion Trainer and his mother took the
title no fewer than 5 years running. The family have also bred
Hall Of Fame dogs in America. Having spent some time in the
States himself, David started out as a Trainer in his own right
at Sunderland in 1991. He left Sunderland for Catford where he
spent 15 months before joining Romford in 1995.
David moved to his kennels at
Brookside when taking the Romford job and has developed the
complex over the years to become one of the leading Training and
breeding establishments in the UK. There is a 200 yard
all-weather gallop, 6 large grass paddocks, 6 concrete paddocks
and 2 large puppy fields (check out the link below for more info
on the breeding operation at Brookside).
As well as having all the latest
physio equipment to hand, Marie Clark (Physio) visits the
kennels every week and David also uses George Drake to ensure
the well-being of all the dogs in his care. There are 7
full-time staff and 1 part-time. David's team have been loyal to
him for many years and have helped him to plunder many of the
top races throughout the country (see list below). There are
beautiful wooded walks nearby and owners are welcome between
10am and 1pm on Sundays but David is always flexible and owners
who may work at weekends etc. can always arrange alternative
dates. Click on the link below for more information on the
breeding set-up, but please note that any greyhounds/pups
purchased from David are sold to stay in the kennel.
