Elaine Saville
has had a license since 1995 and has been at Nottingham
throughout her career as a trainer. In 1973 Elaine's boyfriend
owned a greyhound and she immediately became more involved with
the sport, assisting trainer Jack Coppin on a part-time basis.
Elaine went on to breed her own litter of pups and the
success with this litter convinced Elaine that she could be a
success in the sport.
She took a break from greyhound
racing, got married and started a family, but returned to work
for Jack in 1985, this time she becoming more heavily involved.
With the overriding ambition to set up and train from her own
kennels, Elaine moved into Two Acres in 1987. The kennels were
built by the Saville's themselves in 1990 and it was four years
later that Elaine took over the license from Jack Coppin.
Elaine
concentrates on the graded strength at Nottingham and has a
kennel strength of 24.
One of Elanie's favourite
greyhounds is Windgap Goldie who arrived at Two Acres when 17
months old. She started her career in A7's and went through the
grades to race in A1's. She won a Puppy Open and would have won
more races if it was not for the fact that she was a very bad
traveller. 'Goldie' is now serving as a brood at the kennels
alongside Izzit Shikaree, a sister to Ace Honcho.
Two Acres has 7 paddocks and all
the latest physio equipment for treating and caring for
greyhounds. Elaine has a
loyal team of owners who have been with her for many years.
Kennel fees start at £5 per day and a resting rate applies for
greyhounds unable to race. If you are interested becoming an
owner at Nottingham, please contact Elaine on the above number
for more details. |
