Paul Young's
kennel are sending out plenty of winners at present and
Wednesday's graded card at Romford saw another four
winners in the shape of Newyork Maeve, Name That Deal,
Xaar Tubbs and Notanothernutty. Young also took an Open
at Harlow with Archers Sparkler.
28th February
Maxine Locke
was also amongst the winners at Romford, registering a
hat-trick. Blonde Shadow (A2), Call It On (A2) and Jomax
Plumber (A1) as the kennel took the three highest graded
races on the card. Like Paul Young (see above) Locke
also grabbed an Open win at Harlow (Bonville Podge in
the Standard) to give her 4 winners on the night.

Knighton Glory and
Christian Susie both win to give
Alan McDowell a
double on Swindon's card.
Mick Puzey, who
was last successful in the £13,000 Ladbrokes.com Arc
with the brilliant Fire Height Dan, saw his Too Risky
make-all to deny the fast-finishing Zigzag Dutchy by a
short-head. Too Risky, winner of the Peterborough Puppy
Derby last year, was marked down by Puzey on this site
as a dog to follow on as far back as January 2006.
Alison Ingram's
Vipar Totti needed to lead to win but still ran a race
with immense promise to take 3rd. The Derby is a
possible target for the son of Daves Mentor.

Baileys Boy took his third
consecutive race at Sheffield for
Jane Houfton as
he completed his rise through the grades with an A1
success. The kennel also struck with Royston Lily in the
A2.

Paul Sallis
looks to have a really nice pup on his hands. The Hall
Green handler sent out Star Of Twilight to win on debut
in A1 company, recording a smart 28.96 (fastest time of
the night).

David Pruhs recorded a
hat-trick at Peterborough courtesy of Jacs Top Lass,
Zigzag Rich and Dysert Champ.

Jason Foster is
enjoying a real good run of form and registered a
four-timer at Wimbledon thanks to Sandyhill Master (A1),
Shelbourne Magic (H1), Fenland Jessie (A5) and Girl Be
Lucky (A9).

Malbay Thumper was an
impressive winner over 680m last week in his Heat of the
Grolsch Dual Distance Trophy at Nottingham for
Laurence Tuffin
and was rightly a hot favourite for outright honours in
the Final itself. Leading at the run-in, the son of
Velvet Commander recorded a deserved 1 1/2 lengths
success over Sing On Victor to take the £500 first
prize.
26th February
Quarrycross Lad took the
£500 Carling Monkey Sprint Final at Nottingham for
David Pruhs in
what was a messy contest. The reminder all suffered
trouble-in-running at the first bend and 2/1 favourite
Romeo Alert was a faller. Quarrycross Lad has now won 3
of his last 4 starts.

Walk The Line, the outsider
of the field, took the £12,500 Ladbrokes Golden Jacket
at Crayford, making all to comfortably deny the

pair Daisyfield Seani and Blackmagic Guy.

Smooth Turbo was an easy
winner of the £1,000 Cheif Ramsbottom Hurdle at Crayford
for Jason Foster.
Eliminated in the first round of the Springbok, Jason
Foster's charge has done little wrong since, with this
win being his third success in three runs. Foster went
on to send out another 3 winners at Wimbledon in the
evening with Cricket Groupie (A7), Well Done Julia (A6)
and Ginger Ninja (H3) all successful.

Farloe Hurricane easily
landed the £1,100 Young Guns Puppy Stakes Final at
Sheffield for
Barrie Draper. The son of Larkhill Jo recorded the
fastest time of the night on only his third start for
the Rotherham handler.

Mark Wallis
missed out in the Golden Jacket Final but appears to
have a strong hand in the upcoming Monmore Puppy Derby.
The former Champion Trainer sent out Centaur Decree,
Butterbridge Sid and Directors Wish to land Trial
Stakes.

night at Sheffield where Farloe Culmore (A3), Magna Mia
(A3) and Farloe Booster (A2) all won. Farloe Culmore,
who is not two years-old until April and looks a dog to
follow. The son of Droopys Kewell go up up close home
despite meeting trouble-in-running on only his second
start for the Rotherham handler.

Hurdle Final at Romford went to Newlawn Berts who
recorded a comfortable success over

Alison Ingram's
Viapr Totti proved his 2nd round win no fluke when
causing another upset in taking the first semi-final of
the Ladbrokes.com Arc at Walthamstow. The son of
Daves Mentor made all for an easy 2 lengths success over
Mark Wallis's
Raging Jack. Jazz Hurricane and Lenson Tearaway both had
trouble-in-running and were the major non-qualifiers.
Mick Puzey has
another Category One Finalist in the shape of Too Risky
who took second behind Zigzag Dutchy in an awful race
that saw Blonde Buster, Roswell Starship and Astute Gift
all knocked over at the first bend.

Wonder and Hong Kong Phooey all took Opens at Hove to
give Brian
Clemenson a hat-trick on the card. Hong Kong Phooey
was an easy winner and has now taken his last 3 races.
This ultra-consistent type appears to be improving and
has now finished 1st or 2nd 14 times from just 23
starts.

Trophy at Nottingham saw a track record breaking
performance from
Laurence Tuffin's Malbay Thumper over 680m. Always
lying handy, the son of Velvet Commander took up the
running at the 5th and soon went clear for a 4 1/2
lengths success over kennelmate Lauras Rocket in 41.90.

Eye Onthe Veto landed
another big prize when running away with the £7,000
Emerald Cup at Coventry for
Mark Wallis.
Recording a very smart 29.15 for the 480m trip, the son
of Kiowa Sweet Trey made all to win by 3 1/2 lengths
from Iceman Ross.

Ali did win in quite the style expected but still
justified his very short odds of 4/9 when taking the
£300 Emerald Puppy Cup Final at Coventry for
Mark Wallis by
1/2 a length.

continued at Walthamstow and Heat 2 went to
Alison Ingram's
20/1 outsider Vipar Totti who recorded a fast 28.80 and
claim the scalp of the Zigzag Dutchy (baulked 1st).
Lenson Tearaway showed his opening round success to be
no fluke when taking Heat 3, making all to deny
Mark Wallis's
Raging Jack by 1 1/4 lengths. Quickest of the qualifiers
was jazz Hurricane in 28.75.

send successive Golden Jacket Final at Crayford for
Mark Wallis
when finishing behind kennelmate Daisyfield Seani in
Heat 2 of the Semis. The winner is mightily difficult to
pick up once on the bunny and eventually made all to win
by 3 1/4 lengths. Swift Maggie gave
Seamus Cahill
another big race finalist when taking the 3rd Heat.
Although never able to completely shake off Walk The
Line, the daughter of Hondo Black came home 1 1/4
lengths clear in 45.49.

Despite a few near misses on the card

grades with his 4th consecutive win to take an A4 with

Arc, Walthamstow. The most
high profile non-qualifiers in the opening Heats were
Cobra Striking and Greenfield Hero but nearly all the
other leading fancies for outright honours are safely
through. Seamus
Cahill's Pork Pie took Heat 1 in 29.24 whilst
in-form Jim
Reynolds took Heat 5 with Risk Related (29.32).
Mick Puzey's Too
Risky belied his odds of 10/1 when taking Heat 2 in
29.51. Roswell Starship (29.28) and Armies Plan (29.39)
both won to give
Mark Wallis two Heat winners. Fastest of the night
was Lenson Tearaway in 29.11.

ante-post favourite Daisyfield Seani for

qualified but not in the fashion expected when she went
down by 6 lengths to Jordans Glory in Heat 6. Jordans
Glory was easily the quickest of the night with 46.18.
Paul Young's Shes
The Deal (47.17) took Heat 2 whilst Wallis's brilliant
competition dog Blackmagic Guy, and finalist in 2006
took Heat 3 in 46.72.

Paul Young sent

Romford when completing a hat-trick thanks to wins from
