Grand National Semi-Finals, Wimbledon. Seamus Cahill is
enjoying a real purple patch with countless winners in recent
weeks and saw his Snazzy Time cause a minor upset when getting
the better of Jills Fault in the first Heat.
Jason Foster has another
Grand National Finalist after Custom Paul took Heat 2 in 28.32.
Knockafurtig and Thats The Bullet are both out.

Toosey Britney, Eleonor Magic and
Alameda Storm all won at Sittingbourne as
Gary Sallis
registered a hat-trick.

Darbystown Liz gave
Philip Simmonds one
of his biggest wins in 2006 when taking the £500 Monkey Maiden
Final at Harlow by 1 1/2 lengths.
26th September
Mark Wallis has no
fewer than 5 of the Finalists for the Grand Prix after
Blackmagic Guy and Go Commando took 2nd and 3rd respectively
behind Westmead Swift in Heat 1 and January Tiger, Daisyfield
Seani and Fear Robben were the first 3 home in Heat 2 of the
Semi-Finals. Fear Robben remains the favourite for Saturday's
Final.

Away from the Grand Prix
Seamus Cahill
continued his relentless run of form when sending out another 5
winners. Robs Little Lass (A8), Moral Pet (A8), Luas Lusrach
(A5), Droopys Majella (A4) and Hollyoak Fir (S2) all scored.
26th September
Michael Peterson, who
made the trip to Coventry worthwhile on Sunday with Quivers Ace
landing a sprint Open, took another sprint Open race, this time
at home track Oxford when Maglass Legend won the Peter Clegg
Memorial Chase. Starting at 10/1, the son of Droopys Vieri never
saw another dog when making all for a comfortable 2 3/4 lengths
success.
24th September
Chris Allsopp's Rosshill View took the
£500 Blue Square Invitation 880 at Coventry when beating old
rival Droopys Aoife by 2 1/4 lengths. Elsewhere on the card,
Michael Peterson had
given Quivers Punch as a dog to follow and whilst he ran well in
defeat, it was his full brother Quivers Ace who duly landed an Open sprint
in pleasing fashion. 'Ace' has not been out of the first 2 in 5
starts to-date.
23rd September
The William Hill Steel
City Cup Final, Sheffield. In what was
a quality renewal it was left to Womble to cause one of the
shocks of the season when landing the spoils at 25/1.
Paul Sallis's Driving Up
Rob (4/1), Barrie Draper's
Farloe Hobbs (5/2) and Farloe Hood (16/1) and
Carly Philpott's
Droopys Sami (7/4f) were never able to get on terms with the
pace-setting Womble and connections came away disappointed.

The William Hill Steel
City Cup Final, Sheffield, rest of the card. Although
failing to land the big one,
Barrie Draper's kennel
were in outstanding form when taking 6 races on the card. Magna
News (A3) got the ball rolling and she was followed by Micky
Cooper (Puppy Open), Magna Mike (660m Open), Ranger Tom
(Standard), Fintans Gwennie (A2) and Magna Molly (A1).

Grand National, Wimbledon.Paul Sallis's Jills
Fault, already a winner of the Midlands version, got his
campaign off to a perfect start when winning Heat 4 in a fast
28.38, beating Suit Man a neck.
Jason Foster, who has
already sent out 7 Grand National Finalists will be hoping
Custom Paul can go all the way after his inmate took Heat 3 in
28.36.
23rd September
VC Grand Prix,
Walthamstow.Mark Wallis has
an extremely strong hand in this year's competition and has 5
through to next week's Semi-Finals. Wins from Fear Robben (39.48
with trouble in running), January Tiger (39.62) and Daisyfield
Seani (39.45) were followed by Fear Mykeo taking a 475m Open
race in 28.57.
23rd September
Seamus Cahill's kennel
have consistently sent out plenty of winners all year and wins
from Ninas Capone (P6), King Forever (A4), Ninas Genovese (A3)
and Droopys Lampard (A2) saw him secure a four-timer at
Walthamstow.

courtesy of Core Curriculum (A2), Official Leader (A2) and
Archies Best (S3).

winners at Wimbledon to confirm his kennel are in top form after
his 5-timer earlier in the week. Drumone King (A5), Clonard Pet
(S3) and Lady Caipira (A6) all won for the Billericay handler.

Round. Coventry Bees went quickest
when taking the opening Heat in facile fashion, beating Farloe
Focus by 4 lengths in 27.92.
Brian Clemenson's
charge was not joined in the next round by kennelmate Shelbourne
Poopa who paid the price for a slow start in Heat 4. Zigzag
Dutchy (28.19), Leemount Honcho (28.33), Geordie Parker (27.98),
Farloe Rio (27.95) and Crust Breaker (28.17) were the other Heat
winners.

There were 3 A4 contests on
Romford's card and Maxine Locke
took all of them as wins from Dellas Morgan, Royal Kaiser and
Black Eyed Katie gave her a hat-trick.

Mark Wallis sent out a
memorable 7-timer at Walthamstow where he sent out 4 of the 8
Heat winners in the first round of the Victor Chandler Grand
Prix. Fear Robben (39.77), January Tiger (39.96), Daisyfield
Seani (39.58) and Shelbourne Ryan (40.16) all won and were
joined in the next round by qualifiers Go Commando, Blackmagic
Guy and Eye Onthe Ball to give Wallis 7 runners in round two.
Club Jewel (H2), Centaur Iris (S2), Armies Plan (A2) were the
other 3 winners on the card for the Lakenheath handler.

John Simpson enjoyed a
tremendous night at Wimbledon as Olivias Choice (S1), Snow
Maiden (H3), Blonde Thunder (A5), Lady In Tune (S3) and Prospect
Lad (A9) all won to secure a superb five-timer.

Jane Houfton's kennel
are flying at present and wins for Mikes Toe (A4), Pillow Powder
(A4), Dukeries Hack (A4) and Royston Zak (D2) saw her register a
four-timer at Sheffield.

The Carling National Oaks
Semi-Finals, Nottingham.Carly Philpott
has another major Finalist in the shape of Roxholme Gem who
chased home Shelbourne Rene in Heat 1 but was some 6 1/4 lengths
adrift of the winner who clocked 29.28.
Pat Rosney's Emerging
Force was beaten in the second Semi but makes the Final after
finishing second to Amolee Classic.

Phil Isherwood Rose Bowl,
Romford. Blissful Classic (35.78) went
quickest of the qualifiers and there were wins for
Mark Wallis with
Coolanga Flyer (36.43) and Paul
Young with Honcho Away (36.06).
17th September
Reading Masters.Brian Clemenson's
Shelbourne Poopa recorded the fastest time of the 12 opening
Heats when defeating Kiss My Cash by 5 1/2 lengths in 27.99.
Raging Jack looked good when taking Heat 9 for
Mark Wallis, beating
Ballyhoe Legend 2 1/2 lengths in 28.01. Well Presented took Heat
10 for Seamus Cahill
when beating Coventry Bees 2 lengths in 28.00. Bubbly Classic
and Bubbly Tojo failed to qualify.
16th September
William Hill Steel City
Cup Semi-Finals, Sheffield. Paul Sallis's
Driving Up Rob, now 4 1/2 years of age and the winner of the
Guineas at Nottingham earlier this year turned back the clock
when taking Heat 2 by 2 1/2 lengths from Fear Me in 29.16.
Droopys Sami simply took off in the 3rd Semi. The
Carly Philpott
runner did not lead until the 3rd but came home 7 lengths clear
of the field in 29.06. Farloe Hobbs started long odds-on for
Barrie Draper in Heat 1
and scored comfortably from kennelmate Farloe Hood in 29.25.
Ante-post fancies Zigzag Dutchman and Clash Harmonica are both
out.
16th September
VC 60th Anniversary Night,
Walthamstow.Mark Wallis enjoyed yet
another fine night at the East London track when he sent out Eye
Onthe Veto to win the £3,000 Bill Chandler Memorial Trophy by 1
1/2 lengths from Mahers Boy.
Carly Philpott's
Fear Haribo missed his break and was always struggling
thereafter. Ronnies Callum (Hurdles), Ballymartin Jack
(Marathon), Fear Robben (Stayers) and Roswell Starship (Puppy
Standard) also scored on a good night for the Champion Trainer.

VC 60 Years Of Bookmaking
Marathon. Silbury Ruby showed the
benefit of a confidence boosting victory in an S1 just 4 days
ago as the daughter of Spiral Nikita landed this £3,000 prize
for in-form Mick Puzey
with ease. Staying on to great affect, she mastered Milldean Mia
at the 6th before coming home 3 lengths clear of
Chris Allsopp's
Rosshill View.

Walthamstow's going was very fast
and their VC card saw the sprint track record go as
Jim Reynolds's Horshoe
Ping clocked 14.14 secs and Fear Robben broke the 6-bend clock
for Mark Wallis when
recording 39.21.

Airtech Rebel (A2), Aero Dela Hoya (H3) and Sangria (P6) all win
at Romford to secure aa four-timer for
Paul Young.
