01st to 20th August 2006

20th August Greenacre Lin started long odds-on for Brian Clemenson in the Bunny Rye House St Leger but was not able to lead early and lost all chance after suffering crowding more than once. The £4,000 prize went to 7/1 shot Ard Surge.
20th August Mark Wallis's Go Commando contested a thrilling L.O.R. Super Standard Open at Sittingbourne worth £1,000 to the winner and honours were eventually shared as the son of Soviet Ferrari ran on late to dead-heat with Reagrove Roe. There were a further 2 1/4 lengths back to Emporio Alamo.
19th August Ladbrokes Circuit Final, Walthamstow. Mark Wallis's Fear Khan missed out by just a next to hot favourite Cobra Striking, failing by a neck when running on close home. Wallis had better luck on the rest of the card when Blackmagic Guy, Coolanga Flyer and Roswell Starship all scored to give him a hat-trick.
19th August Brighton Belle, Hove. Brian Clemenson's Shelbourne Poopa was easily quickest of the opening Heat winners when stopping the clock in 29.99, beating Droopys Leah 4 1/4 lengths. Clemenson also scored with Lady Sky in Heat 4, Beautys Best took Heat 3 for John Gammon and Maxine Locke made the long trip to the Sussex coast worthwhile when sending out Droopys Marcia to take Heat 2.
19th August Fartloe Kee (A1), Micky Cooper (A3) and Dukeries Golly (A5) were all successful for Barrie Draper at Sheffield as the Rotherham handler registered a hat-trick.
19th August Never Say Lucky (E3), Younever Cantell (A1), Toosey Beau (A3) and I Is The Daddy (A7) all won to give Jim Reynolds a four-timer at Romford.
19th August John Pearce was in form at Hall Green where he registered aa hat-trick of winners courtesy of Compass Rebecca (A3), Lyntec Bertie (A2) and Intent (S3).
18th August Ladbrokes Gold Cup, Monmore. Zigzag Dutcham again suffered an odds-on reverse but his second in Heat 1 to Elderberry Khan sees him make the Final. Westmead Joe won in customary fashion to deny Fantasy Tiger in Heat 2 but Geordie Parker is out. Carly Philpott's Roxholme Ryan was quickest when taking Heat 3 in 28.97 to defeat Clash Harmonica by 3/4 length.
18th August Westdale Blue and Westdale Star (both blue dogs by Toms The Best x Soemra Robin, Apr 04) won at Romford to give Martyn Wiley an Open race double on the card.
18th August Ronsginger (A5), Arizona Paul (A9) and Baran Helen (A8) all won at Wimbledon to secure a hat-trick for Ray Peacock.
18th August Pat Curtin's runners are in top form at Oxford and wins from Barnwell Barley (A3), Solid Funky (S2), Im Luvin Angels (A7) and Tasty Flight (A8) saw the handler register a four-timer.
17th August Fionntra Stacey, Senahel Gift and Fioanntra Polly all scored for Gary Baggs at Walthamstow whilst there was also a hat-trick on the card for in-form Mick Puzey with Indy Boy, Believable Jo and Dysert Cara.
15th August Osmosis Joe (A9), Vieri Spicey (S3) and Coolagorna Furyk (A5) were all successful at Wimbledon as John Simpson's good run of form continued with a hat-trick.
15th August Jillys Nikita (A3), Jills Fault (Open race hurdle) and Malou (A5) all won for Paul Sallis at Hall Green. Jills Fault, a son of Droopys Rhys and winner of the Midland Grand National, was winning his third consecutive Open.
14th August The Ladbrokes Gold Cup, Monmore. Carly Philpott's Roxholme Ryan has only tasted defeat once in 8 starts and it was business as usual as he was quickly away and had the run of the race to deny odds-on shot Zigzag Dutchman in Heat 1. January Tiger did well to qualify in Heat 2, Mark Wallis's charge was crowded at the start but ran on well to take 3rd behind Bat On and Alibulk Rocket. Barrie Draper's Farloe Hobbs ran on well to deny Carly Philpott's odds-on Ballymac Charley in Heat 3. Geordie Parker started long odds-on and made no mistake when making all to take Heat 4. Heat 5 saw Westmead Joe beaten but he's safely through after taking second behind Hey Jasper. There was another upset in Heat 6 when Clash Harmonica had to play second fiddle to Brian Clemenson's Coventry Bees who made all in 28.11 (quickest of the qualifiers).
13th August Kent Derby Semi-Finals, Sittingbourne. Eye Onthe Veto went quickest of the qualifiers when taking Heat 1 in 29.56 for Paul Young. Ronnies Champion showed good early pace to miss plenty of trouble behind and take Heat 2 in 29.70 for Mark Wallis. Blonde Sheriff, Go Commando and Emporio Diego were all non-qualifiers.
12th August Ladbroke.com Circuit, Walthamstow. Mick Puzey's Optimistic Henry caused an upset on a bad night for punters when leading at the run-in to deny odds-on shot Cobra Striking in Heat 1. Milwauke Tools created a bigger upset when taking Heat 2 at 16/1 as the Carly Philpott trained hot favourite Ballymac Droopys missed his break but qualified in 3rd. Mark Wallis's Special Deal failed to qualify from Heat 3 after a slow start. Wallis had better luck in Heat 4 when his Fear Khan obliged at odds-on for the Lakenheath handler.
12th August Mighty Fella (P7), Mild Surprise (P7) and Tinky Terror (A2) all won on the above Walthamstow card to give in-form Seamus Cahill a treble.
12th August Brian Clemenson secured an Open race hat-trick at his home track Hove when Lady Sky, Generous Man and Droopys Martinez took 3 races on the bounce for the Billingshurst handler.
12th August Seomra Rock landed the £10,000 Peterborough Derby, defeating Riverside Lark by 4 1/4 lengths. Hot favourite Kilpine Champ finished last after starting slowly and suffering early crowding.
12th August Paul Young followed up his Open race hat-trick (see below) with a superb 6-timer at Romford courtest of wins from Pacey Macy (S1), Eye Onthe Magic (S2), Kallums Star (A3), Airtech Choice (S2), Aero Classic (A4) and Princess Beth (S4).
11th August Paul Young grabbed 3 Open race wins at his own track as Hondo Betty (Marathon), Droopys Hotshot (Stayers) and Chakalak Paris (Puppies) were all successful at Romford.
10th August John Gammon's kennel are in fine form and wins for Ragazza Zingara (A9), Eight Till Eight (A10) and Artful Diva (A3) saw the Heathfield handler notch another hat-trick at Brighton.
10th August Who Needs Wings, Smooth Darika and Ceroc Gypsy were all in the winners enclosure as Seamus Cahill recorded a hat-trick at Walthamstow. The last named was winning her fourth consecutive Open and her fifth from her last 6 starts. There was also a treble on the card for Champion Trainer Mark Wallis.

09th August Droopys Lord (H3) got the ball rolling for Maxine Locke at Romford and further wins from Bonville Podge (A1) and Ardmayle Fox (S1) secured a hat-trick for the Wickford handler.
08th August Paul Sallis's Jills Fault gained some just reward for some sterling efforts in recent weeks when the improving hurdler just got the better of Stradeen Ouzo to land the Midland Champion Hurdle at Hall Green.
08th August Chris Allsopp landed his biggest prize to-date as a Trainer when his Rosshill View justified odds-on favouritism in the £5,000 Midland Flat Championship at Hall Green. Head Iton Jordan was closing at the line but was still 1/2 length adrift of the winner with the pair 3 lengths clear of the field.
08th August Tooting Becky (S3), Farloe Heights (A9) and Coolagorna Tiger (A8) were all successful at Wimbledon for John Simpson as the Billericay handler recorded a hat-trick.
08th August Journey North (A3), Dairyland Prince (S1), Curlew Laura (A6) and Swift Maggie (A7) were all in the winners enclosure at Walthamstow as in-form Seamus Cahill recorded a four-timer at the East London track.
08th August Barrie Draper's kennel have been in great form in recent weeks and another hat-trick was secured at Sheffield after wins from Little Option (Handicap), Farloe Kee (A2) and Magna Madonna (A3).
07th August Nottingham staged some Carling Puppy Trial Stakes and there were wins for Pat Rosney's exciting Vatican Jinky who justified odds-on favouritism in 29.98 whilst Mark Wallis saw his Allglaze Robben score in impressive fashion in 29.66 seconds.
07th August Mel Baker's runners were in tremendous form at Monmore where he sent out no fewer than 5 winners in the shape of Danni The Boss (A6), Maries Droopy (A4), Marlfield Hilton (A5), Sandrock Rumble (S3) and Cissies Dancer (A6).
06th August Kent Derby, Sittingbourne. There were shocks aplenty on Sittingbourne's card, none more so than the elimation of Westmead Joe in Heat 3. It was a bad night for Seamus Cahill who's Powerfast Rapid (7/4f) was a faller in Heat 4 and his Well Presented (7/4f) failed to progress from Heat 5. Oscars Market did qualify for Cahill in the same Heat when taking second to Paul Young's Eye Onthe Veto. Ronnies Champion was badly crowded in the final Heat but took second to progress to the next round for Mark Wallis. Heat 2 sadly saw the top class Son Of Phoebe (Brian Clemenson) break down after suffering trouble in running.
06th August Brian Clemenson's fine run of form continued as his veteran staying star Greenacre Lin easily recorded the fastest time of the night in the opening round of the Rye House St Leger. Making all from trap 4 in Heat 2 she came home over 13 lengths clear of the field headed by Boozed Rebel. Roxholme Girl (Carly Philpott) was a withdrawal off colour.
06th August Special Trick, Grand Prix winner 2003, now standing with Chris Cronin.
06th August Final Fahy (A5), Taking Liberties (A9) and Evies Rocket (A7) all successful at Oxford as Pat Curtin is amongst the winners.
05th August Ian Aylward's recent move to Nottingham appears to be going well as he sent out 3 winners on the card thank to Fleetwood Storm (A1), Swifty Buck (A4) and Baliff Bullet (A2).
05th August Mark Wallis sent out Shelbourne Ryan to land the A1 at Walthamstow, his third win on the card following earlier successes from Jiving Caribbean (A5) and Vigorous Bit (A9).
05th August Polo Prince (A2), Sunville Katie (A6) and Well Park Lady (A7) all win at Wimbledon to register a hat-trick for Keston handler Ray Peacock.
04th August Mustang Saturn (A8), Bang On (A4), Ivy Leaf (A3) and Fintansnightmare (S1) all won at Plough Lane as in-form Ray Peacock secured a four-timer and there was also a treble on the card for Jason Foster.
04th August Peterborough Derby. Riverside Lark was well backed and went quickest in the 2nd Round Heats when recording 25.87 in beating Mark Wallis's defending champion Fear No One 5 lengths.
02nd August Brian Clemenson is enjoying a fantastic season and he landed yet another Sussex Cup when his Shelbourne Poopa defeated Baliff Diesel at Hove by 3/4. Making all, the daughter of Kiowa Sweet Trey had just enough in hand to deny the slightly unlucky runner-up who was running-on well after being baulked at the first.
02nd August Brian Clemenson tasted more success on the card when his Lady Sky took the £2,500 Coral Ladies Trophy Final with a comfortable defeat of Jazz Hurricane. Beatties Best took the win prize-money total to £10,000 on the night when landing the Coral Puppy Trophy to secure a brilliant treble for the Sussex handler.

02nd August Paul Young's runners are in fine heart and Top Bombin (S1), Lavenders Mist (A2), Charles Deal (A5) and Paris Sue (S4) were all successful at Romford to secure a four-timer for the Wickford handler.
01st August Roxholme Boy never saw another dog when making all to land the £5,000 Cock O' The North Final at Belle Vue for Carly Philpott. With plenty of trouble behind the son of Droopys Woods was never going to be caught and came home 9 1/2 lengths clear of Junior Mechanic. Philpott enjoyed a tremdous night as Roxholme Girl returned from seasonal rest in style and Ballymac Wind was the middle leg of the hat-trick when also a wide margin winner.
01st August John Gammon's runners were in fine form at Hove as wins for Droopys Focus (A7), Paiges Fantasy (A9) and Droopys Elegant (A5) secured a hat-trick for the Heathfield handler.
