17th Mar 06 Jim Reynolds landed the £1,000 Mike Alan Trafalgar Puppy Cup at Oxford with Horseshoe Ping. The son of Top Honcho won an A6 at Walthamstow in December by 8 3/4 lengths and has done nothing but improve in recent months. Recording his 12th win from 20 starts, Horseshoe Ping showed great early pace and was soon clear of his rivals, coming home 3 1/4 lengths clear of Blakes World.

With all his runners finishing no worse than 4th he sealed the competition when Blackmagic Guy took the penultimate race. The turning point was probably the fall of Charlie Lister's Bat On (race won by January Tiger) which left Wallis clear on points after Lister had started to close menacingly on his lead.
