suffered a shock reverse at odds of 4/11 in the Coors Fine Light

just a length and a head when third behind Canary Sky.

St Leger winner Greenacre Lin took
the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket in style for
Brian Clemenson
when making all for a 3 1/4 lengths win from the fast finishing
Roxholme Girl. Quick away, Greenacre Lin avoided all the trouble
behind and soon had the race in safe keeping, sprinting clear of
the field after just two bends.
Carly Philpott's
Roxholme Girl ran an amazing race to finish so close to the
winner. She headed for the rails as soon as the lids rose and
after crowding at the first, she made up an enormous amount of
ground to claim second, with a further 5 lengths back to Call
Girl. Our Top Dog standings
have been updated.
25th Feb 06
Both
Paul Young and
Martyn Wiley send out a

Brian Clemenson
told greyhoundtrainers.com he is looking forward to the Golden
Jacket Final this Saturday despite admitting again that Trap 1
does not suit his staying star. "On this occasion being in one
might not be such a bad thing. I can see them all going to the
first together, and if that's the case, I'd rather have the
inside. She shows great pace from the second bend so if she
turns in front we have a marvellous chance" said Clemenson of
his St Leger winner. He added "I'm really happy with the way the
bitch is at the moment". Greenacre Lin is currently third
favourite behind Roxholme Girl and Caloona Striker.
23rd Feb 06

naturally delighted with Vancouver Sparky's performance at
Walthamstow on Saturday but is now looking forward to the
Semi-Final this Thursday. "You'd like to think that with his
draw in the Semis, barring accidents he goes through" said
Garland. The Fawkham based handler noticed that Mahers Boy is
quoted as a middle runner in the Racing Post for his Semi. "If
that's the case, and it isn't an error, I wouldn't want us to be
on the outside of him should we meet in the Final. All Finals
are one-offs but with a slice of luck we can get through on
Thursday and go on to win it."
20th Feb 06

Peter Cooke has had a
quite start to the year at Mildenhall but is looking forward to
seeing his home bred litter of 6 trial on soon. The Jan 05
whelps, out of Peter's own dog Beni and Bebe, a bitch owned by
his fiancé's mother, are described as a 'heart' bred litter and
not a 'head' bred litter. Beni would have gone on to contest
more than just minor Opens had it not been for a wrist injury,
and Bebe contested top graded races at Yarmouth. Peter is hoping
they will do well. greyhoundtrainers.com will update you on
their progress during 2006.
