20th March Trainers Championship, Hall Green. In what turned out to be a head-to-head between Charlie Lister and Mark Wallis the meeting turned into a thrilling contest that went to the wire after originally looking one-sided when Lister went 13 points clear after just 4 races. Wallis hit back to lead with one race to go thanks largely to wins from Centaur Decree and Raging Jack. However, a win from Zigzag Dutchy in the finale for Lister with Wallis's Eye Onthe Veto coming only 4th was enough for the Champion Trainer to take the Championship. 20th March Gary Baggs enjoyed a hugely successful night at Walthamstow. Shaunas Celtic, Snoozys Palace, Droopys Kan Kan, True Frankie, Droopys Delia, Fitzie and Fionntra Jo all won to register a superb 7-timer on the card.
20th March Bonville Buster (Maxine Locke) and Flying Time (David Pruhs) recorded identical times when taking their respective Peterborough Puppy Derby Trial Stakes in 25.75.
19th March Fear Haribo’s recent and impressive trial sees him shorten to 12/1 favourite with Blue Square for this year’s Derby .
19th March Phil Broome has hit a quiet spell after finishing 2006 with a real flourish. The winners continued to flow during early 2007 and the kennel hinted at a return to form when sending out Ashwell Margo to complete a hat-trick at the weekend. The bitch, owned by Mick Thompson, routed the field by 6 3/4 lengths and is improving fast.
18th March Barrie Draper continued his good recent run when send out Ranger Tom, Farloe Man, Droopys Velvet and Magna Mane to win on Sheffield’s all Open card.
18th March Jane Houton recorded a Open race hat-trick on a good night at Sheffield . Royston Lily, Royston Frankie and Baileys Boy were all successful.
18th March Speed Dater S2, Musical Major A6, Spruce Mike A6 and Active Rover A6 were all in the winners enclosure on a good weekend for Michael Peterson at Oxford .
15th March Generous Prince (A1), Eleanors Vieri (A7), Wandering Flight (A4) and Climate Blues (A6) all win to register a four-timer for Brian Clemenson at Hove .
15th March Rough Ronaldinho ran away with the £10,000 Monmore Puppy Derby. Making all, the son of Daves Mentor recorded his best performance to date when beating the Mark Wallis Trained Butterbridge Ali by 5 lengths in 28.07.
14th March Jim Reynolds's kennel continue to send out plenty of winners at Romford. Ready Star (A1), Borna Fella (A2), Danfoss Revolver (A3), Cheeky Courtney (A4) and Sammardan Dave (A6) all won to give the Ockendon based handler another fiver-timer.
14th March Elem Heartache (A7), Keianti (A6) and Gormleys Block (A5) all win for Michael Peterson at Oxford.
13th March Magna Mist and Farloe Mallow both scored to give Barrie Draper both Semi-Final winners of the Queen Mother Memorial Cup at Sheffield. Draper was also on the mark with Farloe Culmore (A2) who was winning his third consecutive race.
13th March Ginger Ninja, Godfather and Kildare Lark all won at Wimbledon as Jason Foster recorded a hat-trick.
12th March Ardagh Dawn (A8), Pretty Babe (S3) and Steragel Blue (S2) all win on a good night for Alison Ingram at Romford.
12th March Westmead Hawk is back with Nick Savva and in "lovely condition" with plans to work the dog fully towards the end of the month. Full story in Tuesday's Racing Post.
10th March Paul Young was in tremendous form at Romford and the highlight of the night was no doubt seeing his Kallums Star take his own race, the Kallums Star Centenary Race. The son of Droopys Honcho made all the running and just held off the late challenge of kennelmate Top Bombin by a short-head on his 100th start. Archers Sapphire, Gimmegimmegimme and Maydare Liz also won for Young.
10th March Laurence Tuffin's kennel have hit top form and there were another four winners at Nottingham courtesy of Cavity Karribean (S2), Champane Wally (A3), Nintey Too (A8) and Romeokee (A5).
10th March Vicals Venessa, Grays Survivor and Artists Tale all won for John Gammon at Hove.
10th March Pagoda Tarbert (A2), Baran Venus (A2), Baran Helen (A7) and Dans Hammer (S3) gave Ray Peacock a four-timer at Wimbledon. Pagoda Tarbert, a May 05 pup by Droopys Scholes took his second race in 3 career starts despite starting slowly and looks a dog to follow over the coming weeks.
10th March Mark Wallis sent out a hat-trick of winners at Walthamstow as Lissivigeen Mary (A2), Genesis Sister (S1) and Wingap Henry (H2) all won.
09th March The Steve Simmons March Hare Trophy Final, Romford. Maxine Locke had three runners in the Final and the omens were good after taking two earlier Opens on the card with Blonde Jewel (Stayers) and Bitofabuzz (Seniors). The Final itself saw Bonville Podge come home 1 3/4 lengths clear of the Jim Reynolds' Trained Younever Cantell. Making all the running, the son of Droopys Vieri recorded 24.23 secs, winning his third consecutive race.
09th March John Simpson's kennel were in red hot form at Wimbledon. The Billericay handler sent out no fewer than 6 winners on the card. Kingsmill Kylie (A6), Droopys Leo (A4), Blakes Money (A5), Alberta Kevin (A6), Fine Dancer (S4) and Strong Tucker (A9) were all successful.
09th March Joshs Cerub, Ice Breezer and Avondale Fly all won for Laurence Tuffin at Nottingham.
07th March Steve Harrison's White Comet took the £250 Stadium Maiden Cup Final at Coventry. The son of Mustang Yank had beaten Maxine Locke's Call It On in the Heats, finishing late and fast to land the spoils. He repeated the dose in the Final, picking up the front-running Call It On near the line to win by 2 lengths.
07th March Fear Rebel took his 6th race from his last 9 starts when taking an Open at Swindon for Paul Walden. The son of Top Honcho got up close home in what was the highlight of a hat-trick on the card for the Thatcham based handler. Lily Beatle and Farloe Penalty were his other winners. Farloe Penalty, a June 05 pup, was winning his 2nd race on only his third start for Walden.
07th March Vipar Jet (A8), Sisters Gem (S5) and Swift Lad (A2) all won on a good night at Romford for Alison Ingram's kennel.
07th March Jim Reynolds has enjoyed a great start to 2007 and the run of form continued with another hat-trick at Romford. Talking Machine (A2), Caden Lane (A4) and Chomba Womba (A7) all win.
06th March Jason Foster's rich vein of form continued at Wimbledon with another hat-trick. Kildare Lark (H1), Sri Lanka (A7) and Lughill River (A9) all win.
06th March Pat Curtin's Hugo Ralph has only been out of the first 2 once in 6 starts and the son of Top Honcho's A2 win was the highlight of a 4 timer at Oxford for the Harefield handler. Common Vieri, Boherash Cruise and Black Jam also won.
06th March The Global Windows Memorial Cup got under way at Sheffield and it proved a good night for local handler Barrie Draper. Farloe Mallow is unbeaten since being stepped up in trip and the daughter of Top Honcho recorded the fastest time of the night. Fintans Gwennie also scored (Heat 2) whilst Magna Mane and Magna Mist were qualifiers.
06th March Brookvill Genius took his fourth race from his last 5 starts for Brian Clemenson when taking an Open at Hove. Clemenson was also successful with Cinnamon Girl (A3) and Maui Haleakala (A7). The mixed card saw an Open winner for Gary Sallis when 14/1 shot Swift Maybole took the Puppies contest.
05th March Maxine Locke gets the week off to a good start with a four-timer at Romford. Jomax Plumber (A1), Minglers Rebel (Heat 3 of the March Hare Trophy), Bonville Podge (Heat 2) and Lislevane Sue (A6) all win.
05th March Reports come through that Clash Harmonica was badly injured in a trial before racing at Nottingham.
03rd March Recent Ladbrokes.com Arc winning Trainer Mick Puzey continued his good run with a graded four-timer at Walthamstow. Clonbrin Owl (A3), Whinch Whippet (A4), Placid Jill (S1) and Matomi Sparkle (A8) all won.
03rd March Gary Sallis registered a hat-trick at Sittingbourne courtesy of Blonde Ben (A4), Swift Maybole (A1) and Almeda Classic (A4).
03rd March Jim Reynold's kennel remain in top form and sent out Bigboydidit (E3), Ready Star (A2), Gorbals Saoirse (A3), Scrunch (A4) and Sammardan Poppy (A8) to win at Romford and record a five-timer.
03rd March Ray Peacock followed his recent four-timer with another hat-trick at Wimbledon. Well Park Star (S1), Pegoda Tarbert (A3) and Baran Thriller (H2) all won.
03rd March Not many of Brian Clemenson's dogs are marked up at 12/1 in graded affairs at Hove but the Billingshurt handler saw his Generous Prince start those odds for an A2 contest and duly landed the spoils when running on well for a 1 3/4 lengths success. Kilkenny Faith and Tiara Danny also won.
02nd March Ray Peacock was in good form at Wimbledon as Baran Venus (A3), Kings Highway (A2), Hes In (A6) and Raybeam (A7) gave the Keston handler a four-timer.
02nd March Laurence Tuffin sends out 4 winners at Nottingham. Trailer Girl (A7), Bypass Tricker (A1), Jakes Mistake (A8) and Gneeves Blue (A3) all score on a good night for the kennel.
02nd March Blakes Tom and Acer Lynx both win to record a double at Sittingbourne for Brian Booth.
01st March The Ladbrokes Puppy Derby at Monmore. Rough Ronaldinho went quickest when recording 28.12 in the opening Heats. Mark Wallis sent out 3 Trail Stakes winners last week and saw his exciting Butterbridge Ali make all and record 28.24 when taking Heat 6. Killer Keane also won for Imperial Kennels but the same Heat saw the kennel's strongly fancied Directors Chair meet all sorts of trouble and the son of Droopys Vieri failed to qualify.
01st March Durham Hero and Eleanors Breeze both won at Hove for Brian Clemenson who also recorded an Open race double at Oxford thanks to Brave Lad and Droopys Riquelme.
01st March Owtoftowna, Ross Fortune, King Forever, Flying Fancy and Many Memories all scored to give Seamus Cahill a five-timer at Walthamstow.
