Welcome
to Rycot Kennel. Myself and wife Helen have been here since
2002. The kennel is situated in the heart of the Staffordshire
countryside with lovely open fields used for the greyhounds'
daily gallops and walks. We have two separate kennel blocks,
housing 60 dogs.
Helen looks after the kennel at
Rycot along with her staff whilst I mainly take care of the
lame, sick and injured dogs and of course the racing side of
things. We have regular runners on the Open circuit and have
done extremely well with our
hurdler, Maureens Fancy. Most racing fans will remember Open
winners Moorsgorse Flyer, Moorsgorse Major, Open marathon winner
Fagans Dancer and more recently, Predict and hurdler Tell Me
Nothing.

The kennels have all the latest
facilities including a motorised walking machine (see picture
below) and plans have been
passed for a hydro therapy pool. Work starts on this shortly. We
average over 200 winners a year.
A syndicate scheme is being
introduced in 2005 with a number of puppies almost ready to race
and we are very excited with this new project and hope it will
attract new owners to the sport. You can contact me on the above
number for more details. All owners are welcomed on a Sunday
morning to walk their dogs in the picturesque surroundings.
I regularly visit Ireland and can
help prospective new owners to find a greyhound to suit their
requirements.
