Philip Simmonds
has been involved with dogs since leaving school and has worked
professionally with hounds until the current day. He was a
public coursing trainer and still looks after three packs of
hounds. Philip first
became
involved with professional greyhound racing in Ireland and took
out his own license in 2005 and is currently attached to
Mildenhall Stadium, the only racing track in Suffolk.
Phil has 20 graded racing dogs and
is supported by Assistant Trainer Christine Cusselle and Kennel
Hand Natalie Collins. Ron Mills, a Sport & Remedial Massage
Therapist specialising in the treatment of greyhound injuries
visits the kennels on a weekly basis.
The kennels are set in 100 acres of
land, just off the M11 Motorway and has wonderful facilities for
the greyhounds. There is private grass land and various wooded
walks and Phil has both a 220m all-weather gallop and a 300m
grass gallop. The kennel whelps pups on average twice a year and
has the facilities to rear and school greyhounds.
Philip warmly encourages owners to
visit his kennels and participate in the walking of their
greyhounds in the beautiful surroundings at Trinity Foot. An
enthusiastic contributor to the re-homing of retired greyhounds
as they enter the second part of their lives, Philip has a
wealth of experience and will be looking to increase his kennel
strength in the coming years. He has already sent out plenty of
Open winners with Might Be Magic consistently in the winners'
enclosure and the kennel also took the £500 Monkey Standard at
Harlow with Savedbyjoe in 2007. Headford County was a Finalist
in the £10000 Graphite Puppy Derby at Walthamstow the same year. |
