John Pearce used to be an owner and
had several dogs with Ken Linzell in the 1980's. John took out a
permit license in 1986 and had runners at
Henlow and Milton Keynes. He then went to Ireland for 8 years
where he spent his time
breeding, rearing and training greyhounds. John returned to
England in 1999 and was
contracted to Hall Green, his current track.
Watch Kennels has been developed
over the years and this modern set up, set in one and a half
acres of land with room for 50 greyhounds has all the latest
facilities including access to a schooling track directly
opposite. With a loyal team of owners who have been with
John for many years, the kennels are nearly always full but
there are always dogs available for sale.
John keeps two brood bitches at the
kennels and regularly has fresh talent grading onto Hall Green.
Once the broods have whelped their pups, they stay with their
mothers for twelve weeks before being sent to Ireland where they
stay until they are twelve months old. They then return to Watch
Kennels where they are schooled for racing. |
