Fashion research project – a short interview enquiry

Hello,

I’m working on a research project for ProQuest and would like to ask if you have the time to participate in a short interview in the next week please? My aim is to investigate:

  • Whether institutions offer a standalone fashion or textiles programme, or whether they include fashion within other programmes, and if so, which ones.
  • The type of courses and disciplines studied by current Fashion students internationally.
  • How fashion students conduct their research in their institutions.
  • Future needs and demands in terms of resources.

The findings will be used to inform ProQuest of how students, tutors and librarians are using resources. The questions can be sent to participants by email or I can arrange a time for a short telephone call. Thanks! If it’s of interest please email me at  andreatsoi@hotmail.com.

kind regards

Makerspaces in libraries survey

Please read the e-mail below and help our colleague, John Burke, with his research on makerspaces in libraries.

*******************************************

From: Burke, John [mailto:burkejj@miamioh.edu]
Subject: Makerspaces in libraries survey

For a book that I am writing on makerspaces in libraries, I am curious to learn more about libraries that have a makerspace, fab lab, or hackerspace.  These spaces are areas in a library where patrons can use tools and equipment to imagine, design, build, and create all sorts of different things.

I’m trying to get a sense of what types of making are happening in various library settings.  If you have a makerspace or are planning to launch one, I would appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill out my survey at http://tinyurl.com/librarymakerspaces

It should take about five minutes to complete (depending on how much you’d like to share).

The results of the survey will be shared with this list soon after the survey closes, with a more involved analysis available once the book is published. I am eager to learn more about makerspace implementations, and to share that information with you.

Please complete the survey as soon as possible.  Thanks so much for your participation!

Fashion Industry Research?

Hi Folks,

Our Fashion Marketing & Management program here at the Savannah College of Art and Design is growing. Our library does not yet have business intelligence databases such as Euromonitor or Mintel, so we are doing our best to help students with their fashion industry research (market/lifestyle/consumer demographics, etc) using our other resources. Can anyone recommend a webinar or tutorial on doing (fashion) market research?
